 Real Estate Gurus

Step 1: You are the recipient of my benificent Guru-osity

Step 2: Powerful words emanate from my holy throat.

Step 3: I alone hold the place where money does grow, regardless of what your frugal father told you.

Learning how to make a lot of money very quickly is a valuable asset. Real Estate Gurus are those that take some knowledge and sell it to you for a price. Your question, and HoustonRealNews' question, for every guru is alway, what knowledge and what price.

The pitch itself is so powerful, that such mundane shopping is often ignored.

THE PITCH

You think to yourself:
Can it really be that easy? A weekend of time, a few thousand bucks and I will be a One-Minute Millionaire?

I can buy that foreclosure for $215?

I made $50,000 in my first three months.
We do not attest to the validity of those thoughts. Here is what we do know.

GURU-OSITY

You see an ad in the paper with fantastic claims of wealth to be made in the real estate market. Fortunately, the information offered is FREE!!!.

Then, you go to the seminar, hear great stories, tidbits of information, and a path to financial riches beyond or just up to your wildest imaginations.

Fortunately, your new guru offers to teach you more.

This process is called Guru-osity.

It is similar to a surgeon performing an operation for free and only charging you to close him up.

See Robert Allen profile on a great story of Guru-osity turning into actual generosity.

SPEAKING AS A PROFESSION

Some people just like to hear themselves speak. Others do it because it helps them make money in their other, more lucrative endeavours.

We surmise that most real estate gurus like to hear themselves speak - because they charge $5,000 per person, or $2,500 per ear, listening to them.

None of which has much to do with their clients success in real estate.

One 2005-6 Realty Investment Club of Houston (RICH) board member has paid thousands for courses over the past several years. The member has as of yet, still not been involved in any real estate investment transactions.

Others have used Mentors (another topic altogether, although the article we wrote is in this section), paid a lot of money and had great success.

ARE THEY WORTH IT?

Yes.

Real estate is about getting into the market, finding opportunities and closing them. The gurus can and do teach thousands of people, or in Albert Lowry's case 350,000, tactics and lessons that consistently make money in real estate.

Before you take that as endorsement of the gurus, please use our reviews with the following suggestion: all the info you will ever need is available for a nominal charge via book, or used tapes, or by networking in your local real estate clubs.

If you have gurus you would like us to report on, send an email.
